Private Villa

Living Room and Kitchen Update, Berlin 2015

The commission tasked me and my team at Kinzo in Berlin with the ambitious project of recreating the living spaces of a 19th century villa with a contemporary twist specific in Berlin. The client's vision was to have an open and spacious atmosphere, free from the burden of heavy furniture. To achieve this, a remarkable design element was introduced in the form of a couch that stood like an island in the middle of the living room. Suspended lights gracefully hovered above it, casting a soft glow that added warmth and intimacy to the space. The remaining furniture followed a minimalist approach with a contemporary touch, allowing the room to breathe and providing a seamless blend of modern aesthetics within the historical context of the villa.

In the kitchen, a captivating blend of materials came together to create an inviting ambiance. The dominant feature was the use of black matte steel, which exuded a sleek and modern appeal. Golden pendants suspended above the kitchen island added a touch of opulence and served as eye-catching focal points.

To balance the industrial elements, a wooden table with accompanying chairs were introduced, infusing the space with a sense of warmth and creating a harmonious contrast. This combination of materials in the kitchen brought a unique charm and an inviting atmosphere that merged contemporary design with timeless elegance.
