Soundcloud
Concept for Office Space , New York 2015
During my time at Kinzo, I had the exciting opportunity to oversee the design of the Soundcloud Office in New York. The project presented a unique challenge of creating a a hip and cozy addition to the Soundcloud family on a very tight budget.
This constraint sparked our team's creativity and ingenuity. We embraced the limitations by utilizing unconventional materials and crafting unexpected objects, resulting in a design that was both resourceful and playful.
One of the standout features of the office was the inventive use of colored PVC strips as partitions, offering a cost-effective solution while injecting a vibrant and playful aesthetic into the space. Additionally, we employed metal grids in combination with affordable acoustic elements to construct the wardrobe wall, that effectively maximized the functionality of the space without compromising style.
Among the various design elements, "the Hedge" stood out as a defining feature, crafted from plywood sheets. This structure served as a divider between the communal area and the office space while providing a distinctive character to the overall environment. Not only did it fulfill its practical purposes, but it also incorporated a display component, adding another layer of visual interest.
