Office Building , Bucharest 2009

The project aims to revitalize and regenerate a mixed area, and the office building serves as a vertical landmark that defines and shapes this part of the city. With a strong focus on design and sustainability, the building incorporates various environmental aspects, such as rainwater collection and natural ventilation. The strategic placement of the building is influenced by the presence of two major auto circulations, which act as borders.

The ground floor is designed to be an open and inviting space for the public, accommodating a restaurant, a bar, an exhibition area, and a multipurpose room. This arrangement not only encourages community engagement but also adds vibrancy to the surrounding area. On the mezzanine level, dedicated spaces are provided for the building's occupants, including a restaurant and conference rooms. These amenities cater to the needs of the employees, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment within the building.

To mitigate the impact of traffic, a densely planted space is created on the east side, providing a visually appealing barrier. Additionally, a small public space is positioned on the south side, serving as a transitional zone between the main entrance and the bustling traffic.

One key element of the building's design is the surrounding web, which plays a crucial role in collecting rainwater and facilitating natural ventilation and illumination. Through a system of carefully designed openings adapted to each facade, the web allows for the efficient passage of air and light, enhancing the overall environmental performance of the building. This integration of sustainable features not only reduces the environmental impact but also creates a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment for the occupants. The building's layout reflects a thoughtful consideration of both public and private spaces

The integration of public and private spaces within the building's design not only enhances its functionality but also fosters a sense of community and connectivity. By offering a mix of public amenities on the ground floor, such as the restaurant, bar, exhibition space, and multipurpose room, the building becomes a social hub where people can gather, interact, and engage in various activities.

This inclusive approach to design promotes a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere, not only benefiting the building's occupants but also creating a positive impact on the surrounding neighborhood. Furthermore, the provision of dedicated spaces for employees on the mezzanine level acknowledges the importance of a conducive work environment, facilitating collaboration, innovation, and productivity.
