Haus Schmidt-Muschner
Private House, Berlin 2013
This private house located in a quiet residential area of Berlin is accommodating a pilot's small family, seeking respite from the bustling city life. The volume is partially covered in timber cladding and it features different types of windows that playfully pierce the volumes. The living spaces are at the ground floor and opened towards the garden. The upper floor contains the two bedrooms and one bathroom.
As an architect, I had the privilege of working on this project during my first year of working in Berlin. The house was designed to cater to the needs of two individuals leading exceptionally busy lives, yearning for a sanctuary to call their own—a place to establish roots and nurture their growing family. The house's architecture reflects a harmonious blend of modernity and serenity, seamlessly integrating with the tranquil surroundings.
