Factory Berlin
Digital Campus, Berlin 2017-2018
Working at 99chairs in Berlin the most significant project that I worked on was the headquarters of Factory Berlin near Görlitzer Park. The client, influenced by Pop Art and Andy Warhol, brought excitement and collaboration. With a clear vision yet openness to innovation, we created a space for startups, entrepreneurs, and tech companies to collaborate and grow. From day one, it was evident that the client knew exactly what he wanted, providing us with a clear vision to work towards.
The Reception Area
A statement piece made of sturdy concrete and industrial container metal, the reception desk created a juxtaposition of raw materials and symbolized the fusion of nature and technology, mirroring the ethos of the company. The reception area not only embodied the client's vision but also captivated guests, leaving an indelible impression of creativity and innovation.
On entering into the reception area of the campus the client wanted an awe-inspiring experience. The entrance, skillfully crafted with organic wood lamellas, created a sense of organic harmony and warmth as it gracefully welcomed visitors into the space. This natural, flowing shape stood in striking contrast to clean geometry of the reception desk.

The Café
The eclectic furniture style, a delightful blend of vintage and modern pieces, exudes a welcoming charm.The custom-made wooden furniture adds a touch of quiet elegance, perfectly complemented by the vertical garden and live trees, which infuse the space with a refreshing burst of greenery.
The intricate copper elements adorning the ceiling, add a touch of sophistication and warmth to the overall ambiance. Amidst the bustling energy of the tech hub, the café offers a cozy, natural haven, inviting visitors to savor their coffee in a cozy space with the comforting presence of live trees.
The Restaurant
The restaurant embraces an eclectic fusion of design elements, weaving together an industrial charm with a touch of sophistication. The custom-made concrete furniture, adorned with a net of metal, boldly underscores the space's industrial character.
Against this rugged backdrop of the exposed ducts and unfinished walls, the oak furniture and plush velvet soft seating offer a striking contrast, infusing the ambiance with a sense of comfort as copper surfaces bring a touch of luxury to the space.
The Event Space
A dynamic and versatile space designed to accommodate a myriad of gatherings and occasions. Its custom-made furniture has the stage and walls featuring built-in storage for the seating, providing maximum flexibility for various setups. The custom tables are cleverly engineered for easy assembly and storage.
The industrial character of the venue is tastefully emphasized by the metal net, creating a powerful visual contrast against the soft oak furniture and luxurious velvet seating. This harmonious fusion of concrete, metal, oak, copper, and plush velvet creates an ambiance that is both inviting and refined.
The Brainstorm/ Meeting Spaces
Factory Berlin offers a diverse array of meeting rooms, catering to the varying needs of its vibrant community. For large-scale gatherings and workshops, the spacious conference rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, encouraging seamless collaboration and idea exchange.
There are barnstorming spaces all over the campus, either closed or open like diners the members always find spaces to exchange ideas. On the other end of the spectrum, the intimate phone booths offer privacy and tranquility for one-on-one calls or focused work.
The Coworking Spaces
Factory Berlin boasts a diverse range of coworking spaces, each with its own unique character and ambiance, catering to the eclectic tastes of its members. For those who appreciate simplicity and focus, there are minimalist coworking areas, offering clean lines and uncluttered spaces that encourage productivity. On the other hand, the coworking spaces with a touch of elegance exude sophistication, with tasteful décor and premium furnishings that inspire creativity and collaboration.
For those who revel in an industrial aesthetic, some coworking spaces feature partitions made of yellow PVC stripes, creating a playful yet functional atmosphere. Despite the diversity, one common thread unites all these spaces—the presence of beautifully crafted oak wood custom tables. These tables provide a sense of cohesiveness and natural warmth, ensuring that no matter which coworking area members choose, they can find a comfortable and inspiring environment to bring their ideas to life.
The Community Spaces
The community spaces at Factory Berlin exude an unmatched sense of vibrancy and creativity, elevating the coworking experience. On every level, beautiful community kitchens serve as lively hubs, where members can connect over shared meals. The playroom is a delightful escape, featuring funky seating, ping pong tables, and a playful ball pit.
The cinema offers a unique twist with guests sitting on sofas adorned with funky grandma fabrics, epitomizing the "more is more" ethos that defines the Factory Berlin spirit. These thoughtfully designed community spaces enhance the coworking journey, fostering a dynamic atmosphere where collaboration, inspiration, and genuine connections thrive in abundance.
