Boehringer Ingelheim Learning Center

Creative Concept, 2017

During my time at 99 chairs I collaborated with Boehringer Ingelheim on their innovative learning center, "The Cube". The challenge lay in reinventing the community space, encompassing a reception, waiting lounge, flexible open working area, community kitchen, and a multifunctional space.

The client yearned for an intervention that would transform the area into a warm and inviting environment, juxtaposed against the clinical sterility of the rest of the building. Embracing this vision, I eagerly delved into designing a concept that would breathe life into the space.

To create a familiar atmosphere, I envisioned warm materials like wood juxtaposed with concrete and greenery. The open layout and flexibility encouraged collaboration and community engagement. The reception area would boast a touch of natural greenery, welcoming visitors with a sense of calm and serenity.   The client wanted a lot of custom made elements to experiment in the space. Their idea was to give the space a unique character while promoting eco-consciousness.

The flexible open working area would be adorned with wooden lamellas with shelving and desks, providing a harmonious balance between productivity and comfort. The big multifunctional space would be adorned an array of flexible elements that offer endless possibilities for gatherings. Drawing inspiration from the client's desire to incorporate wood pallets, and Oriented Strand Boards so I envisioned a concept that beautifully melded sustainability and creativity.

Combining creativity, functionality, and sustainability, my concept aimed to transform "The Cube" into a space where innovation thrived, and the community flourished. Boehringer Ingelheim's new learning center would soon become an embodiment of the company's dedication to progress and human connection.
